FootSecure Launches A Range of Custom Therapeutic Footwear and an app for nationwide delivery, at DFSICON 2024
The app allows empanelled clinicians to enter client details and place orders for their patients, across the country
FootSecure, a pioneering healthcare start-up specializing in podiatric medicine and wound care, has unveiled its innovative range of custom therapeutic footwear at the 21st Annual Conference of the Diabetic Foot Society of India (DFSI CON 2024). The conference, held at The WestIn, Mumbai from, is also hosting the 10th Annual Conference of the International Association of Diabetic Foot Surgeons and the 2nd D-foot International, under the theme “Interact, Innovate, Implement and Improve.” In alignment of this theme, the launch of custom footwear marks a key milestone in FootSecure’s mission to provide tailored foot care solutions aimed at reducing amputation rates and improving the quality of life for patients suffering from foot and ankle conditions, particularly those with diabetes.
Along with the range of therapeutic custom footwear, FootSecure also introduced an app that allows empanelled clinicians and doctors from across India to order custom therapeutic footwear for their patients with ease. By entering clinical details directly into the app, FootSecure’s manufacturing team can design and deliver custom-fitted therapeutic footwear to clinicians anywhere in the country.
“We are proud to offer a unique solution for patients to receive clinically appropriate footwear based on their foot biomechanics and gait patterns without the need to visit a clinic in person. Our app-based service simplifies the process for clinicians and ensures that patients receive the best therapeutic care from the comfort of their homes,” said Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Co-Founder of FootSecure.
FootSecure’s new custom therapeutic footwear caters not only to diabetics but also to those with foot conditions such as arthritis, plantar fasciitis, and post-surgical foot anomalies. FootSecure’s manufacturing facility, based in Bangalore, was established with an investment of INR 30 Lakhs and is capable of producing up to 300 pairs of custom offloading footwear per day. Further, FootSecure currently offers six models of footwear, starting at INR 2,000, designed to provide stability, injury prevention, and enhanced comfort. The customizations extend to the outer sole, midsole, insole, and uppers, offering comprehensive solutions for a range of foot pathologies.
“We have always focused on making high-quality podiatric services accessible and affordable. By launching this app, we are extending that mission nationwide, empowering clinicians to provide the right foot care without logistical hurdles,” added Dr. Sharma.
The global diabetic footwear market is rapidly expanding, with a projected value of $14,183.7 million by 2031, according to Allied Market Research. Leveraging this growth potential and to ensure quality product and customisation can be accessible to everyone in need, FootSecure aims to also launch a B2C version of the app in the near future, enabling customers to directly order custom footwear, further broadening access to personalized foot care solutions.
